21st Century Learning

Think about how you learn. Describe some of the ways you learn. Do you learn the same way your parents did? Explain.

  1. How do you learn?
    • What are your passions?
    • What does engagement mean to you?
    • What does it mean to be a student today? How could you represent that symbolically?

  3. No I dont think I learn like my parents. They were taught by nuns. I learn by a regular teacher. My favorite special is spelling. Being a student today means to be a good person. Shamar

  4. In my school we have to copy notes and it is boring! My sport passions are football and Martial Arts.To me engagement means to get married. Today, a student is a boy or girl that has to be the student pet.I could write a patition.

  5. I learned that if you dont know what something is on the computer dont click on it. If it is something very bad tell your parents, or teachers. In St. Briget School we learn about a lot of fun and at the same difficult things. The teachers at St. Bridget are very nice and are trying to help you be a better person and get ready for high school and college. Also the students are very nice people when I frist came to St. Bridget School i felt welcomed because they welcomed me. My passions are to go to St.Bridget School, play basketball, cheerleading, and softball. Also to be in the Drama Club and the Church Choir. I also want to be a teacher when i grow up. Engagement means to not get into things like fights or gangs. Just walk away if something that you dont like is happening. Tell an adult or a cop so that they can do somehting about it. To be a student means to me that I still have a while to grow up and that people might still treat me asa child. I still have 10 years of school to go including college and high school. I could represent St. Bridget symbolically by saying the school colors are green and black., its an Irish school, also I would say many kids and we use a lot of charts.

  6. I learned that if something on the internet says 'you are the 100th person to log on click here to claim your prize' do not click on it. It is most likely spam. This school teaches kids important things about life. Sometimes it can be difficult, but the specials help to calm everyone including the teachers down. The specials are computer, library, PE, spanish, art and music. As far as getting involved in fights or arguments most people don't get involed, but this school rarely has fights. Most of the students in this school are friends. This is also in a good neighborhood. We have fire and safty drills.

  7. Do you learn the same way your parents did?

I feel we are blessed with some of the special privileges of education that 21th learning gives us. We are able to communicate with our teachers as though they were family members instead of strangers. We are also given the opprintuneits of special subjects such as:

1)Spanish-to prep us for high school. and to help and show us how different cultures are.

2)gym- to make sure that our generation is not fat and some childern face obesity.

3)computers-to make sure that we are able to use tecnology.

4)music- to introduce the arts to students.

5)art- to help childern express themselfs openly without fear.

Do you learn the same way your parents did? No!!!
